Nortel: Data Networking Equipment
Nortel Networks had been a provider of data networking, data center products, call center products and converged communications technologies. Nortel and Avaya competed in some product segments and complimented each other in others. It was this market positioning that lead XETA to choose Nortel as its data networking partner during XETA's aggressive enterprise market expansion strategy.
XETA has been a Nortel Partner since 2003 and achieved Elite Advantage Partner designation in 2005.
XETA customers win when Avaya acquires Nortel
In 2009, Avaya agreed to acquire Nortel's enterprise networking business and in early 2010, the restructured company announced its new product roadmap. Avaya customers in the market had been concerned with how the new roadmap would impact their existing infrastructure and investments. Nortel customers were concerned that their existing products would be phased out in favor of Avaya product offerings that overlap.
The good news for XETA customers is that XETA has been a premier partner for BOTH manufacturing vendors and has dedicated and certified Avaya and Nortel engineers.
